Why Galileo’s Shadow

The title of the book was chosen to reflect the very great influence which Galileo had - and continues to have -on the Scientific Determinism|Creationism|Big Bangscience of physics.  This influence does not concern itself with Galileo’s very great and very real contributions to experimental physics, such as the motion of bodies.  What this book investigates is the fact that it was Galileo who was responsible for the three basic and fundamental axioms, which have largely underpinned the scientific methods of our new age.

This book contends that Galileo made some fundamental philosophical errors in these three axioms, by which he tried to supersede the corresponding Platonic traditions which had reigned unchallenged since the times of ancient Greece.

This historical and philosophical approach to a book on physics gives the arguments advanced in it a unique perspective, leading to very unexpected results.   It is only the very latest theories in particle physics, such as string theory,  that make the conclusions reached in this book relevant and believable.
