About

My name is Werner Thurau and I am the author of Galileo’s Shadow.  Some books are read because they are written by a famous person in the field.  This is not the case here.  The book is a book of ideas, all solidly grounded in physics, but I am not a professional physicist.  In fact I believe that anyone trying to make a career in physics would be rather unwise to publish this book.  Its arguments are largely philosophical and some of the conclusions reached are very radical, which would not help the career of anyone attempting to reach a tenured position in this science.

The book contains some details about the author, but I feel that what is important here are the ideas.  If they convince, or at least lead to a good discussion, I will feel that I have reached the goal I set myself when writing this book.

I hope you will enjoy a good read in a comfortable chair, leaving everyday cares behind!
